Oh what a matchup we have on our hands! The Kansas City Royals are primed to face off against the St. Louis Cardinals at the Cardinals' homely nest, the Busch stadium. Now, don't get me wrong, this place isn't exactly a batter's paradise but the home team isn't bogged down by it, well, because, there's nothing like home, sweet home.
Moving on to the fine chaps who would be gracing the mound for their respective teams - Royals have Noah Cameron on their side. His exemplary season stats speak louder than me! A sterling 1.10 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and a moderately fondness for strikeouts, he's had a great start to the season in just 4 appearances. On the other side, Cardinals have Miles Mikolas walking up the mound, not as impressive as Cameron but has had more game time in 11 appearances, and a pretty okay ERA of 4.02.
When we look at the line-ups, Royals have some impressive blokes to boast of, in the likes of Vinnie Pasquantino, Kyle Isbel, Bobby Witt Jr. and Maikel Garcia, who've been hitting all kinds of numbers. Contrarily, Cardinals have Alec Burleson, Ivan Herrera, Masyn Winn, Willson Contreras and Nolan Arenado who have been raining runs this season.
And let's not forget the history lessons! It's been kind of a mixture when these teams clashed. If we look at the previous 5 match-ups, Royals came up top three times and Cardinals managed to snag two wins.
Now to the present, Royals have a respectable 32-29, while St. Louis boasts a slightly better record at 33-27.
So, who's gonna reign supreme this time around? Drum rolls, please... Take a deep breath and listen closely, because here comes the surprise!
