Philadelphia Phillies by 2
Alright, if you're a fan of a slow-burning pitchers duel, then you're either going to love or hate this one. We've got the Philadelphia Phillies squaring off against the Toronto Blue Jays up in the chilly climes of the Rogers Centre.
For the Phillies, Mick Abel is on the mound and boy, has he had a clean sheet so far this season; he's yet to give up a run, and with his impressive K/9 ratio, I expect Toronto's batsmen to have a tough time.
Jose Berrios is starting for the Blue Jays, showing a solid, if a bit more pedestrian, representation for the season. It's gonna be a tussle, no doubt.
On the batting front, the Phillies lineup is like a who's who of baseball royalty - Alec Bohm, Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and theft expert Trea Turner. As for the Blue Jays, their best hopes lie in Alejandro Kirk, Ernie Clement, Addison Bagger, and the always explosive Bo Bichette.
Digging into the history books, we see a fascinating trend. In their last five encounters, Philadelphia has come out triumphant four times against Toronto, so they've got a bit of history riding on their side.
Taking a snapshot of the regular season, the Phillies, demanding respect with a 37-23 record as compared to the Blue Jays, trailing a bit at 31-29. Recently, the Phillies have had a rollercoaster ride whereas the Blue Jays have come back strongly from a loss against the Phillies.
Make no mistake: with the sort of fire-power assembled at the Rogers Centre, we're in for one heck, and I do mean one heck, of a night. Despite the roomy outfield, this isn't quite the haven for batters. A chilly evening, power pitching on display - let's just hope it doesn't turn into a snooze fest.
Drum roll please. Ladies and Gents, if you're in the market for a sure thing, I'd go with this:
