Tampa Bay Rays by 2Mosey on over to Tropicana Field, where the Texas Rangers are about to square off with the Tampa Bay Rays. The mound will bear witness to a pitching battle between the Rangers' Kumar Rocker, with an ERA of 8.39 and 1.81 WHIP this season, and the Rays' Shane Baz, who's carrying a 5.12 ERA and 1.43 WHIP. As an aside, the lower score in the so-called Park Factor appears to favor those who throw curves and sliders. Just saying.
On the Rangers' side, we've got notable names that include Josh Jung batting .270 with 15 RBIs and 5 home runs, followed by Jake Burger batting .257 with 4 dingers and 11 RBIs. Wyatt Langford has been struggling somewhat with a .176 average but adds to the score board with 12 RBIs and 5 home runs. A wily cat on the base paths with 7 stolen bases to his name too.
Get a gander at the Rays' lineup. We find Jonathan Aranda batting a robust .353 with 17 RBIs, and Junior Caminero who's knocked in 25 runs with 8 home runs, batting .293. No need to discount Josh Lowe and Brandon Lowe either, both lads adding some heat with their batting averages of .295 and .289 respectively.
Reflecting on the archaic dances of their past matchups, the Tampa Bay Rays seem to have the upper hand recently. The Regular Season Records have both teams at a near deadlock, Rays nudging ahead by a smidge with a 31-29 score to the Rangers' 29-32.
Skimming through the recent results shows an interesting pattern, with St. Louis getting blown away one day but coming back the next, and Houston going through a similar rollercoaster with Tampa Bay. Maybe they're getting seasick, someone get them a Dramamine.
