Samsonova in 3 sets.Well, set down your snacks and grab your scorecards my tennis-loving compatriots, we've got a right blooming match-up today: the power-swinging whirlwind that is Liudmila Samsonova, against the unseeded dynamo, Caty McNally. You remember McNally, right? High school prom to tennis pro in the blink of an eye.
Now, Samsonova has been a bit of a yo-yo in recent matches. She's been feasting on straight set wins and then getting served up the same in return. This kind of inconsistency could make a chiropractor sweat if it wasn't for our darling McNally, who's had about as much luck recently as a three-legged cat on a hot tin roof.
A quick note on the rankings here: Samsonova is sitting pretty at 24 while McNally... well, you can't get lower than McNally, and I don't mean that as insult, just that she's unseeded. Which brings us to the very core of this tennis conundrum: Do we bank on Samsonova's erratic yet higher-seeded prowess, or take a punt on Mcnally to cause an upset?
Tough call. Like choosing between a bear and an alligator for a pet. But my money is on the extra firepower, not to mention, the higher seat in the seed rankings. That, and let's face it, McNally has been alternating losses more than I've been changing socks.
So, buckle up for some high-octane tennis, folks. There might be a bit of a struggle before we reach the final destination, but in the end, I don't see McNally being able to match Samsonova's artillery.
