My Prediction
Bencic in 3 setsWell, buckle up, everyone, because we're in for a treat between Belinda Bencic and Amanda Anisimova. It's the unseeded Swiss, Bencic, squaring off against the 17th seed, Anisimova.
As of late, Bencic has been as slippery as an eel on a doorknob. Strictly speaking in terms of recent victories, Bencic, while unseeded, has had a slight edge over Anisimova - beating the likes of Maria T. and Ito A. straight-to-love. On the other side of the net, we have Anisimova who has been playing her own tune and dancing to it too, boasting victories against Ostapenko J., Alexandrova E. among others, although she compromised a set while playing against Kostyuk M.
But folks, let's not forget that there is a reason why they say "love hurts." Anisimova may be the 17th seed, but she's also recently had a loss against Kessler M. whereas Bencic seems to have a better grip on the rallies.
Now let's add a little more fuel to the fire. In the immortal words of Shakespeare, "Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown." And while Anisimova is coming in with a ranking, Bencic seems to benefit from flying under the radar just a bit.
