Western Michigan Broncos by 3
Rumor has it that pigs are flying because Western Michigan Broncos and Buffalo Bulls are going head to head in the coming NCAA Football matchup. On one hand, the Western Michigan Broncos, after posting an inconsistent 3-3 record this season, have shown complexity akin to a Rubik’s cube. Yet, they pulled out a respected stance with recent victories against Akron Zips and Ball State Cardinals. Buffalo Bulls, on the other hand, have a more refined record (4-2), but hold your horses before betting your retirement savings on them, especially with their hiccup against Connecticut Huskies.
The quarterbacks, being the maestros of the field, exhibit contrasting skills here. Hayden Wolff of the Broncos, with his intriguing passing efficiency of 160.7 and nifty 7 TDs, has been putting on quite a show the last month. Over at Buffalo Bulls, two chefs seem to be stirring the pot - CJ Ogbonna, who’s no slouch either with a 117.8 passing efficiency, and Gunnar Gray...oh boy, his 49.5 passer rating speaks less of a virtuoso and more of a struggling trainee.
Broncos' offensive entourage features stars like Jaden Nixon, Anthony Sambucci, and Zahir Abdus-Salaam, all terrific the last month with Nixon’s 520 total yards and 6 total TDs crowning the performance. The Bulls though, aren't exactly selling postcards either. AL-Jay Henderson, Victor Snow, and JJ Jenkins who amassed 228, 164, and 133 total yards respectively, have been putting up a robust show as well.
For those of you who enjoy a chaotic defensive standoff, don't roll your eyes just yet. The Broncos with Rodney McGraw, Donald Willis, and Domanick Moon, all stepping up the last month, are hardly a walk in the park for any offensive line. Equally intense are Shaun Dolac, Khalil Murdock, and Saveon Brown defending the earthly realm of the Bulls, courtly and gritty in their numbers.
Cooking up a prediction for this match, looking at those figures and stats, is kind of like trying to solve that Rubik's cube whilst riding a bucking bronco. But, for what it's worth, based on pure gut-feel, empirical evidence and my mom's favorite animal, I think we're looking at:
