Kansas State Wildcats by 4
All eyes will be on this clash between the Kansas State Wildcats and the West Virginia Mountaineers. It's got the sizzle, the pop and some might say even the fizzle too.
The Wildcats have been tearing up the turf with a 5-1 record, leaving their paw prints all over their rivals, while the Mountaineers have been more of a mixed bag with a middling 3-3 record.
The Wildcats' recent performances have been a sight for sore eyes, toppling both the Colorado Buffaloes and the Oklahoma State Cowboys, only falling to the Brigham Young Cougars in a shock loss. On the other hand, the Mountaineers seem to have taken up rock climbing rather than football, dropping games to the Iowa State Cyclones and Pittsburgh Panthers, but then turning around and crushing the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
In a showdown of the center, the Wildcats' Avery Johnson has been performing like an exam student on espresso with a 135.8 passing efficiency, while the Mountaineers' Garrett Greene has been more akin to decaf with a 122.6.
On the offense, it's the Johnson, Giddens, and Brown show for the Wildcats, ball-dancing their way to lots of yards and touchdowns. The Mountaineers have tried to counter with the White and Donaldson one-two punch, but it seems the glove doesn’t quite fit.
And when it comes to defense, the Wildcats show claws with Romaine, Parrish, and Mott. The Mountaineers answer back with Wilson, Garnes, and Jackson, but it doesn't look like they're stopping any train with a car door.
Taking all this into account, my crystal ball would have me suggest -
