What an invigorating match we have here folks! The Duke Blue Devils are set to host the Florida State Seminoles and with data in hand, it’s shaping up to be a real humdinger.
Despite their historical encounter last year that saw the Seminoles wallop the Blue Devils by 18 points, the tides seem to have turned this season with the Devils boasting a strong 5-1 record compared to the Seminoles who’ve had a patchy season yielding a paltry 1-5 record.
For the Blue Devils, we've got backfield dynamo Star Thomas shimmying in with an impressive 470 total yards and 2 TDs in the last month. Complimenting him are Jordan Moore and Eli Pancol, running riot on the wings contributing a healthy sum of total yards, 297 and 185 respectively, and muscling in with a combined 6 TDs.
The Seminoles have not been left completely in the dust making do with their standout offensive players, Lawrance Toafili, Ja Khi Douglas, and Malik Benson. Toafili rushed in recently with 233 total yards and a TD while Douglas and Benson kept the opposition defenses on their toes with 195 and 147 total yards.
On the defensive side, Duke’s Alex Howard has been a standout with 20 tackles, while the Seminoles bank on their defensive machinery Kenton Kirkland and Patrick Payton, boasting a solid performance in the previous month with Kirkland managing 15 tackles while Payton routed through with not just 11 tackles but also, 4 sacks.
Sadly, we're a little in the dark about the Duke's quarterback lineup this time around, but the Seminoles come armed with DJ Uiagalelei and Brock Glenn who despite clocking in some average stats in the past month will be eager to step up their game this time around.
Drawing from the overflowing well of contradictory data, I'd say this match could be a scorcher. The Blue Devils have been in stellar form lately albeit against some softer opposition, while the Seminoles have struggled against stronger adversaries. Still, considering their offensive fireworks and homeground advantage, my money, and yours, *cough* should ideally be on the Blue Devils.
