Washington State Cougars by 19
Ah, we got a spicy luau for you folks today as the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors journey north to toss the pigskin around with the Washington State Cougars. Hawaii's stumbled into a bit of a lava pit with a 2-4 start to the season, whereas the Cougars have been bounding around the grasslands like it's a catnip fiesta with a 5-1 record.
Hawaii's been struggling, but their QB Brayden Schager has been hanging ten with a slick 134.8 pass efficiency, throwing 9 touchdowns in the last month. Compare that to Washington State's signal caller, John Mateer, who has less passing efficiency at 127.5 and fewer TD’s with 7. Still, you can't dope out a football game with a calculator, can you?
Getting offensive, Hawaii sports receivers Pofele Ashlock and Nick Cenacle, both of whom averaged a combined total of 499 yards in the last month. However, feathers might get ruffled as the Cougars line up with the likes of Kyle Williams and Kris Hutson, whisking away 673 total yards during the same period.
Defensively, the Rainbow Warriors present Peter Manuma and Jackie Johnson: Manuma managed to upset a few plays with a forced fumble, and Johnson sacked the quarterback twice. Not to be outdone, the Cougars parade Taariq Al-Uqdah and Andrew Edson, the latter harboring two quarterback-napping sacks and a forced fumble last month.
So, considering everything but strictly between you, me, and the goalpost, the outlook doesn't bode well for the islanders. Considering teams' recent results, player performances, and the fact that Washington State Cougars are known to be quite intimidating on their home turf, my prediction is a bit of a downer for the Rainbow Warriors.
