Minnesota Timberwolves by 9
Well, isn't this a rendezvous of destiny? The Timberwolves are the Goliaths here, and not just because they've got a nice pack of tall, athletic guys among them. Their track record's got some gleam to it, with the relatively recent dusting of the Hornets 114 to 93 points. Given how those Hornets managed to give them a sting in the following matchup, I suppose the Timberwolves were simply marking their territory. The Timberwolves come into this with a decent regular season record that the Hornets might find intimidating, to say it nicely.
Let's talk player stats. Anthony Edwards for the Timberwolves is as dependable as engine oil, with a performance last month that saw him averaging 31.9 points per game. Naz Reid is another player who's been leaving his mark on the court averaging 18.6 points last month. And then we have Julius Randle, who isn’t glistening as he did last season but is still a key player.
Looking at the Hornets, we see a mountain and not the kind that's easy to circumnavigate. They're in something of a bind with their regular season record. But let's not disregard them entirely. They’ve got LaMelo Ball who’s been averaging 17.0 points in the last month and has been one of their best contributors. With Miles Bridges and Mark Williams also bringing decent figures to table, the Hornets might put up a solid fight.
However, judging by recent results, the Timberwolves are showing signs of strength, superior to the Hornets who've been falling a little flat, let's say. It's crystal clear that the Timberwolves are cruising slightly higher in their respective conference standings.
So here’s my two cents - the Timberwolves look set to mark their territory once again, and the Hornets? Well, they might have to endure another sting, I’m afraid.
