Los Angeles Lakers by 3The Knicks are coming to town, folks, setting their sights on breaking some hearts in Los Angeles. Karl-Anthony Towns has been ripping it up lately, with a monthly average of over 25 points and more than a dozen rebounds per game, and Jalen Brunson is no slouch either, lighting up the scoreboard with nearly 28 points per game. Meanwhile, in the City of Angels, LeBron James seems to be defying father time with his performance, and Luka Dončić is joining the fun averaging just shy of 23 points per game in the last month.
Past encounters between these two paints a slight edge for the Lakers but it's never a slam dunk in this league, right? Remember when the Knicks won in LA back in 2023? Classic.
Considering the recent regular season records, the Knicks are marginally better, making the calculators of the statisticians go haywire. But at the end of the day, Los Angeles is still holding a high perch at the #2 spot in the Western Conference, slightly better than Knicks' #3 in the East.
Both teams have been showing a strong performance in their recent matchups, with the Knicks taking down a tough Miami team and the Lakers rolling over New Orleans. But, sports fans, nothing is for certain until the final whistle.
Taking these factors into account with a hefty dollop of intuition, I'm making my call.
