Talk about a skillet sizzler, folks - oh, wait, I'm not supposed to start with that either, am I? Anyway, let's dive in with our latex gloves and apathetic attitudes. Today we scrutinize the eternal drama between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics. And surprise, surprise, we've got some problems in the paradise.
From the Lakers’ brigade, we have The King LeBron James who, frankly isn't waiting for his son Bronny to join the league. He's been averaging 28.8 points per game for the last month. Of course, there's Luka Dončić, looking sleeker than your brand new Ferragamo shoes while gleefully tossing 23.8 points per game last month. But get this, Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes are out injured. You bet it's throwing some sand in Lakers’ spinach dip.
On the other side of the court, we've got the Celtics, dressed in green and full of dreams. Their ace Jayson Tatum has been dropping a robust 27.7 points per game recently. Teammate Jaylen Brown, a major part of the Celtics' engine, however, is listed as doubtful due to an injury. That's got to be as comforting as a porcupine in a balloon factory. Not to mention, the towering Kristaps Porzingis is also missing. Seems like the injury bug isn't playing favourites here.
Just so you know, Boston holds a better regular-season record. Sure, the Lakers won their last face-off, but need I remind you that past glories don't pay today’s bills? The Lakers are ranked #2 in the Western conference, and the Celtics, wouldn't you know - also hold the #2 spot in the East.
Does that make it any clearer? Probably not. But in the immortal words of my pet goldfish: "Glub glub."
So, despite the collateral damage from injuries on both sides, I see this one slightly leaning towards Celtics, thanks to their slightly less worrisome health card and the home court advantage. But it's gonna be a close shave, folks, precisely to the tune of four points.
Albert’s Prediction: Boston Celtics by 4
