Well, we're in for quite the show today as our very own traveling Chicago Bulls go head-to-head with Orlando's finest Magic team. Now, putting my personal fondness for close games aside, it seems oddsmakers are placing Orlando as favorites with a payout of $1.32 per win.
Chicago's in an interesting position. They've got Josh Giddey and Nikola Vučević taking charge. Giddey's turned heads, averaging 19.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per match during the last month. Vučević hasn't let up either, putting up a solid 14.8 points and 9.4 rebounds in his last month's performance. But, they've had a rough season so far, sitting at a 24-38 win-loss record.
Flip the coin and you have the Orlando Magic. Paulo Banchero and Franz Wagner have been serving pleasant surprises with an impressive average of 26 and 24.9 points respectively over the past month. Looks like the Magic's 8th position in the Eastern Conference isn't some fluke.
Now, revisit the history of our two combatants. Orlando has a bit of an edge, standing victorious in three out of five past games against the Bulls. Chicago's recent performance also doesn't bode well, dropping three out of their last five match-ups.
Combining all the stats, records and historical data, I see Orlando Magic taming the Bulls tonight. However, seeing as both teams have some pretty scrappy players, I don't expect Orlando to cover the spread.
