My Prediction
Memphis Grizzlies by 9Ladies and gentlemen, get ready as the Memphis Grizzlies prepare to square off against the New Orleans Pelicans. Eyebrows are certainly raised as Grizzlies bring in some heavy artillery onto the court. You'd think the floor was hot lava the way their top gunner Desmond Bane has been igniting the game on a tirade, putting up 21.4 points per game in the last month while Ja Morant's versatility bagging 23.3 points per game isn't shy either. And let's not overlook some backboard action from Jaren Jackson Jr., adding 20.5 points per game to the Grizzlies’ tally. Who needs a zoo when you've got all these beasts on one court?
Even so, the Pelicans aren't ready to roll over. Not when Zion Williamson's been hammering down 26.8 points a game and Trey Murphy III filling in with 19.8 points per game consistently. CJ McCollum also chipped in with a solid 19.5 points per game. But whether they’ve got enough wings to soar past the Grizzlies, that's the heated question, folks.
Now, history seems to be whispering favorably into the Grizzlies' ears. In their past games, the Grizzlies have repeatedly shown dominance over the Pelicans with four wins to one, making them the proverbial Goliath to Pelicans' David.
As for their season’s journey, the Grizzlies are dancing in the limelight, sitting comfortably in the 4th place in the Western Conference. On the other hand, the Pelicans are having a bit of a fumble being at the 14th place. What do they say about the bigger they are? Yeah, let's not get into that right now.
On the note of recent encounters, the Grizzlies seem to be on a hot and cold rollercoaster. They've had some spills and some thrills but managed an impressive win against Dallas lately. Conversely, the poor Pelicans, it seems, have perhaps misplaced their winning charm somewhere in the floorboards, with consecutive losses in their recent games.
The showdown is imminent, and the tension is thick. So, going off the deep end here, don't hate me New Orleans but I’ve got to side with the facts. Well not the fact that I’m splendidly handsome, that's a given, but the stats.
