New York Knicks by 6Oh, the thrill of a basketball game, am I right? Okay, eyes front as the Golden State Warriors head east to face those cosmopolitan titans, the New York Knicks. Intrigue aplenty ripples through this encounter!
Our Warriors are packed with firepower, despite a set of hurdles headed their way. Their point-guard par excellence, that's right -- you guessed it, Stephen Curry, his curries are hotter than they sound. He's been cooking up a mouthwatering average of 29.8 points a game last month and I mean, who else does that? But alas! Scuttlebutt has this sharpshooter down as doubtful for today's duel. Besides our headline performer, the likes of Andrew Wiggins, with an impressive 25 points average per game last month results in the enemy troops shaking in their boots.
However, the Knicks aren't just a team of rookies, mind you. They've got Karl-Anthony Towns who's been an absolute beast gobbling up rebounds like a competitive eater at a hot dog stand. Cutting a dash with an average of 23.8 points and a whopping 12 rebounds per game over the last month. But fate, that cruel mistress, has Towns as doubtful for today. And for a zippy performance, we must cast our eyes towards Jalen Brunson who's been raining down lightning-quick assaults averaging 27.1 points per month recently.
Examining both their past encounters and current form, there seems to be a tilt towards the Knicks. Historical stats show a 2-1 win advantage favouring the Knicks over the Warriors, while their season stats flaunt a superior 40-20 win-loss compared to the Warrior's 33-28.
Recent forms, however, show a more balanced picture. The Knicks have had a mixed bag of results, with a shudder-inducing defeat to Cleveland but victories over Miami & Memphis. And you can't underrate the Warriors who've had the pluck to best the likes of Philadelphia and Charlotte.
Considering all these, and given the home advantage along with the Knicks' current standing as the coveted No. 3 team in the Eastern Conference... hold your breath folks, here's my prophecy.
