Athletics by 3Taking a look at today's matchup, we've got the Athletics who are on a bumpy stretch this season, currently sitting at a 6-10 record. They'll be handing the ball to their starting pitcher, Osvaldo Bido. Bido's performances this season have been fairly impressive; the lad rocks a comfortable 3.00 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP in 3 appearances. If he continues in this vein, the White Sox might have a tough day at the batting cage.
Speaking of the White Sox, our gracious hosts from Chicago are having a wobbly start this season themselves, murmuring through the season at 4-11. Jonathan Cannon stands at the mound for them today, but oh my, his stats aren't as impressive as Bido's. With a staggering 6.09 ERA, and 1.73 WHIP in over 3 appearances, the Athletic's batters might have a field day.
Top-billing for the Athletics we have Soderstrom and Wilson; Soderstrom batting quite handsomely at an average of .328 with 8 homers under his belt, and Wilson, not too far behind with an average of .333. Their presence in the lineup does promise a shower of runs.
The White Sox aren't necessarily lighting up Broadway when it comes to their top performers. Baldwin is carrying the team with a .268 average, which says more about the rest of the lineup than it does about Baldwin, honestly speaking. Maton, Thaiss, and Vaughn are lagging behind considerably. Looks like the Chicago batters might need a wake-up call.
Looking back at past encounters between these two, the Athletics seem to have a tad more dominance over the White Sox. The most recent game ended in a win for the Athletics in what was a veritable run-fest at Chicago.
