San Francisco Giants by 2
Ah, the classic West Coast rivalry heats up again as the San Francisco Giants traipse down to the sunny confines of Angel Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Angels. At heart, this game could be a battle of South Korean stars. On one side, we've got the Giants' leadoff sensation, Lee Jung Hoo, who's been smacking around baseballs like they insulted his mother. On the other, the Angels’ lineup, featuring sizzling youngster Kyren Paris who's been launching balls out of the park like an over-caffeinated trebuchet.
The Angels, seem a bit off balance recently, they've been getting their wings clipped more often than not, as shown in their latest expeditions to Texas and Houston. Unfortunately, their starting pitcher Tyler Anderson has been stellar this season, uninspiring for the home crowd. I mean, come on guys, giving up less than three runs on average? You can practically see the bats gently weeping.
As for the Giants, they've been coasting around like a shiny Cadillac, crushing through their opponents if you glance over those pesky Philly games. They'll be hurling their own mound maestro, Logan Webb, whose arm has been about as lethal as a thimble full of cobra venom this season. Please don't ask me how I know that.
Looking at the past, these old rivals have had a healthy give-and-take situation. If you've been following closely, you'd know the Giants have been getting the upper hand, but we all know past performance doesn't always predict the future...unless probably if you're gambling.
Speaking of which, let's reminiscence about the home run fireworks last season put on by Mike Trout. Maybe, just maybe, he could spark some of that magic despite his less than stellar season so far.
So now it's time to put my well-worn oracle hat on and give you the prediction.
