Philadelphia Phillies by 2Well, if we're brewing up some baseball predictions, here we have the Miami Marlins facing off against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park, and dear lord, this park might as well be the birthplace of offense considering how it treats the batters.
Our pitchers for the evening, ready to make batter soup, are Sandy Alcantara for the Marlins, packing in a 5.00 ERA and 7.5 K/9 this season, and he'll be pit against Zack Wheeler for the Phillies, with a 4.11 ERA and a hefty 10.5 K/9, not to mention slightly nicer WHIP stats in his bag.
Peering through the spectacles at the Marlins' top players, we've got Xavier Edwards, Griffin Conine and Matt Mervis. Edwards and Conine have decent batting averages, but it's Mervis that packs the power, leading the team with 6 home runs.
As for the Phillies, they've got their very own lineup of hardwood arsonists that include Edmundo Sosa, Nicholas Castellanos and Kyle Schwarber. Sosa's got a madly high batting average of .414 and Schwarber is showing off with 6 home runs. Throw into the mix Bryce Harper, who's been traveling faster than emails with his 5 stolen bases and you've got quite a lineup.
Diving into the pool of history, we see that the Phillies and Marlins have been at it like cats and dogs. Their past matchups have been all over the place, but the Marlins did hand the Phillies a solid whacking last September, though the Phillies have also had their days of glory.

On the other hand, Phillies have a somewhat better outlook, winning three of their last five.
