My Prediction
Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks by 2Ah, a good old fashioned matchup between Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks and the Saitama Seibu Lions. Undeniably, both teams have flaunted their feathers (or should I say fur for the Lions?) with quite an aplomb this season. The Hawks may have had a bit of rough patch earlier in the season, but they're currently on a bit of a roll, stirring the pot with a delightful recent hat-trick against Chiba Lotte Marines. The Lions, on the other hand, have been steadier with their performance but have squeaked by in a few recent close calls.
The previous face-offs between these two were rather a mixed bag. The Hawks did have an impressive outing with an 11-1 victory, though most of the other matchups ended closely contested, leaning a bit towards the Lions. Now, don't get me wrong, regular matches are fine and dandy to ponder upon, but it's all about who crunches those numbers on the big days, isn't it?
Now, let's chew on recent data. Hawks seem to have found their mojo, soft-banking some wins (see what I did there?) against the Marines. In comparison, the Lions, impressive as they might be in their numerical supremacy in the win-loss column, have been pulling it a little too close for my liking.
