If I were a betting man, and oh look, I am, I'd have my eyes on the Yomiuri Giants and the Yokohama DeNA BayStars. In this diamond duel, it's like choosing between steak and lobster, both leave you happy, but there's always a peculiar taste for one more than the other.
In this little dance of theirs, it's a bit of tit for tat with the edge slightly leaning towards our Giants. Cue up the past matchups reel and you’ll see they've had some solid rounds, trading blows from 1-0 wins to a heavy 9-1 knockout by the BayStars, but even up by tallying a trifecta of victories in five games.
Back home, however, the Giants are playing house music with a season record of 16 wins and 11 losses, leaving them with quite a pleasant vibe indeed. The BayStars? Not doing so well in the charts at 11-13, like a one-hit-wonder that you've forgotten the lyrics to.
For the warmer folks out there, giant blankets have been doing well recently against the Carp and Tigers. Our BayStars, on the other hand, have been pushing out some big numbers against the Swallows and Carp. Money well spent over on that side of the field, I'd say.
This game though, feels as uncertain as a carnival hotdog. Sure, the Giants have been doing a mean tango, but the BayStars could just as well pull a samba. Still, after crunching the numbers and cross-checking my horoscopes, I'd have to go with the beefy Giants on this one, by a margin that's as slim as your chances of winning a free burger at the fast food lottery.
