Alright, let's dissect this upcoming clash of titans. Set in the Rogers Centre, the New York Yankees are crossing the border to face off with the Toronto Blue Jays.
New York's hurler for the evening, Carlos Rodon, has been fairly solid putting forward an ERA of 3.11 with a solid strikeout rate of 10.3. No doubt, Rodon will be focused on some shutdown innings early in the game.
On the other side of the mound, Toronto's Kevin Gausman sports a higher ERA of 4.29, and fewer strikeouts. But baseball is a funny old game and you never know when a pitcher will catch fire.
Speaking of fire, let's talk offense. The New York pinstripes are powered by a few gents in particular. Cody Bellinger, who sounds like he should be slinging bells for a living, is slugging with a .350 batting average. Aaron Judge is another chap who refuses to act his size, dolling out judgement in the form of 10 home runs with 22 RBIs to boot.
Toronto, isn't short on firepower though. Look at George Springer who has sprung .363 worth of batting average on us. Addison Barger is another fellow, who definitely isn't lounging around with 18 RBIs and 6 homers to his name.
The storied past does tip in favor of Toronto, having bested the Yankees more often than not. But, as we all know, history is meant to be rewritten.
New York has been struggling somewhat recently, not quite finding their groove. On the other hand, our Canuck friends have been churning out wins in their last few encounters.
Taking everything into account, I think it's gonna be a close one.
Albert's Prediction: Toronto Blue Jays by 2.
