Alright, if baseball were a potluck, then the Brewers and the Mariners are certainly bringing the main course tonight in Seattle at the not-so-hitter-friendly T-Mobile Park.
Milwaukee Brewers are trotting out Brandon Woodruff, who has an enviable 2.67 ERA and a whip that cyclists would envy at 0.69. Seattle's starting pitcher George Kirby on the other hand, has more area in his ERA at 4.56 and his WHIP wouldn't even cut it at a prom night, perched at 1.16 - but we're here to watch some baseball, not prom night, aren't we?
Looking at the Brewers' batting line-up, it's like a convention of elites. A who's who, if you will. Caleb Durbin has been belting the ball at a .367 clip and Isaac Collins is right behind him in the battle of averages, swinging .312. Don't forget Christian Yelich though, the chap's got .312 batting average, but with 22 RBIs and the maximum number of home runs!
Over to the Mariners' camp, Dominic Canzone seems to have the Midas touch with a .352 batting average and Randy Arozarena has been a regular demolition crew with 10 home runs and 21 RBIs.
Checking the history records, these two have met like feuding families at a Thanksgiving dinner, with the Brewers taking the larger piece of the turkey in the past five encounters.
The Brewers, during their summer picnic, won 4 of their last 5 games whereas the Mariners have been a mixed bag like grandma's old candies, taking 3 and losing 2 in their last games.
Given all these dazzling variables in our goat rodeo of a sport, if this game isn't a coin-toss then my name isn't Albert. But hey, who am I to resist? Seeing how everything is shaping up, I'll have to invest my chips on the Brewers, despite the bookmaker's soft corner for the Mariners.
So here we are,
