Alright folks--Uh, I mean, let's take a gander at this matchup, shall we? We've got the Kansas City Royals visiting the Miami Marlins at the quaint little nook they call the loanDepot Park in Miami.
On the mound for the Royals, we've got Kris Bubic. A few minor hiccups but let me just say, Bubic's has been performing quite well, knocking down a 2.61 ERA and 1.18 WHIP this season. The Marlins are responding with Janson Junk and his 2.73 ERA and a solid WHIP of 1.01. I suppose that's decent if you're into that sort of thing.
Now let's talk about players in this Royal court. Bobby Witt Jr. has graced us with a nice .314 BA this season. Not to be outdone, we're also seeing Salvador Perez and Vinnie Pasquantino both batting .270 and .260 respectively.
Jumping over to the Marlins' pool, we have got some serious heavy hitters in the mix. Among them, Kyle Stowers took it up a notch with a .377 batting average. Otto Lopez's .292 BA and 27 RBIs aren't too shabby either, I reckon.
Now, looking back at some past match-ups, it's been a bit of back and forth. But, their last two meetings saw the Marlins coming out on top, and as we know, the past is usually a good predictor of the future.
However, the regular season records of the two teams leave a great deal to be desired with the Royals at 47-52 and the Marlins slightly behind at 46-51. appears they've both been having a tough time catching a break.
Based on the next-level analysis, I've been known to provide, the Royals are looking like the better bet this time round. I mean even a broken clock is right twice a day, right?
So here's the punch line you've all been waiting for then:
