Oh, how I cherish these riveting evenings at Wrigley field. Ladies and Gentlemen, we have the Boston Red Sox challenging the locals, Chicago Cubs.
As our brilliant but somewhat humble starting pitcher for Red Sox, Garrett Crochet, walks onto the field, one cannot help but admire his 2.18 ERA and 1.04 WHIP this season. On the other side is Cade Horton, with considerably less impressive digits, but hey, nobody's perfect.
We must not overlook our resident royalty, the enthusiast players gaining attention. The Red Sox have the likes of Romy Gonzalez, batting a .340 average and Ceddanne Rafaela who's hitting a .330 with 22 RBIs. I could use a guy like that on my daily errands. And let’s not forget Trevor Story. His recent performance is definitely not just a story. He’s got a .309 batting average and has stolen 5 bases. For the Cubs, you've got Mike Busch leading the pack with a .365 batting average, Carson Kelly not far behind, and Seiya Suzuki, who may be a touch lackluster at .267, but I believe in second chances.
The previous encounters between these teams should not be dismissed. The last few shindigs went mostly in the Cubs favor, although those Red Sox did manage to pull out a massive 17 run spanking last year, but that’s old news.
Regular season records are worth a glance too; The Red Sox stand at 53-47, while the Cubs have a more promising 59-39 record. As for recent results, both teams have had their fair share of ups and downs. While the Red Sox have been struggling of late, let’s not forget that the Cubs took quite a punch from New York.
Now, we may not have quite the symmetrical distribution of recent power and prowess here, however, throwing all rationality in the wind, because why not?
Albert’s Prediction: Boston Red Sox by 3
