Stepping into the beautiful PNC Park, we have the Chicago White Sox going head to head with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates, more favored in this game, will be bringing Andrew Heaney to the mound, who has thus far been exhibiting a 4.69 ERA and 6.9 K/9 this season in 19 appearances. For the White Sox, it's Aaron Civale with a season ERA of 5.42 and 6.3 K/9 in 11 appearances.
Shinning mentioned for the White Sox are Mike Tauchman, whose batting average is currently a sizzling 0.310, Austin Slater, and Lenyn Sosa. However, if you are the sentimental type, and if last season stats matter, then keep your eyes glued on Andrew Benintendi.
Meandering towards the Pirates, we have the pleasant surprise of Tommy Pham owning a .359 batting average. Nick Gonzales and Ke'Bryan Hayes aren't too far behind either in providing some solid contributions this year.
The White Sox and Pirates have had a few clashes in the past, with the White Sox outscoring the Pirates in their latest encounters. However, in the big scheme of things, the Pirates do manage to pull one up over the White Sox in their overall regular season records.
Recently, the White Sox have had a seemingly hot-hand securing impressive wins against the Pirates but they did suffer some dents against Cleveland. On the flip side, the Pirates couldn't hold their ground against the White Sox and had a mixed fortune against Minnesota.
Crunching all these numbers and factors, dusting off my crystal ball, here's my prediction -
