We're heading into a contest with the Mariners sailing into Globe Life Field to take on the Rangers. Now, it's a "more cattle, less hat" situation for the Rangers, who are spinin' their baseball lassos, hoping to hogtie the Mariners.
Take a gander at those starting pitchers. Seattle's handing the ball to Logan Gilbert, with an impressive strikeout rate this regular season. Nathan Eovaldi, the Rangers hurler’s got a low ERA too, so expect some sparks on the mound.
Seattle is packing heat with heavy hitters-- Donovan Solano and Cal Raleigh. Solano, packing a .415 average and Raleigh, with his formidable last month tallying 15 home runs. Over in the home-dugout, the Rangers are led by Marcus Semien and Evan Carter. They are holding strong with solid batting averages, but watch out for Josh Jung despite a dismal .183 average, he seems to find ways to bring runs in with 15 RBIs.
The ghosts of past battles between these two teams don't reveal a clear pattern. Recent encounters swing both ways, and the scales slightly tilt towards the Mariners who had a warmer welcome mat out for the Rangers on more occasions.
Looking at their regular season reports, the Mariners are on shaky waters with a slightly superior 41-39 report card than the Rangers at 40-41. However, the recent winds of fortune seem to favor the Mariners, while the Rangers have had a rocky road recently.
Taking all these statistics and factoring in the subtle virtues of Globe Life Field, it’s more of a pitcher-friendly park so this might work against those heavy Seattle sluggers.
Pouring all of these into my probably-not-so-trusted fortune telling gallon hat, I reckon we're in for a meaty contest. I'm putting my money on the...
