Well, if this isn't an oddball pairing...arm wrestling and chicken plucking, Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles. Now, Friends, let's leave no stone unturned.
The Rangers, lucky ducks, roll into this with the magic of Jacob deGrom on the mound. This fella has been impressive, boasting a 2.27 ERA with 0.93 WHIP in 15 appearances, painting corners like Picasso. For the Orioles, they send Brandon Young, with a less than stellar 6.59 ERA after just two outings, bless his cotton socks.
Top players from the visiting team? Eye-catchingly, the Rangers have Evan Carter and Marcus Semien leading in their batting averages, smacking the ball around like they woke up on the wrong side of the bed. That Wyatt Langford and Adolis Garcia are also clutch, despite a more appetite-destroying average.
For the Orioles, Gunnar Henderson and Dylan Carlson take their places as top players, swinging like their bats are allergic to baseballs. Colton Cowser and Ryan O'Hearn are also intensifying their efforts, they ain't no slouches.
Taking a stroll down memory lane, we see that the past matchups between these two teams have been hair-raisingly close, oscillating like my ex's mood swings.
Considering the recent trajectories, the Rangers sit at a respectable, albeit not mind-blowing, 39-41, while the Orioles aren't far behind with 34-45. Common sense and history tell us, however, that recent form is about as reliable as a breadstick kayak.
But don’t you start writing your memoirs yet. We've also got to consider the recent results for each team. Both sides have had their fair share of triumphs and tragedies, as unpredictable as a lottery.
Taking everything into account, it's about as clear as my Nana's pea soup. But we have to call it as we see it, so drumrolls, please...
