Los Angeles Dodgers by 2Pardon me for this light stroke of snarkiness, but, folks been raving about Dodger Stadium as the cradle of homers this season, and not without merit. Don't get me wrong, the air is good for the bats. Yessiree!
Let's talk starters on the mound. The Giants have Webb, who's been solid - 2.58 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, a hearty dose of strikeouts. But do excuse his Dodgers counterpart Yamamoto for not being impressed - he's boasting a 2.21 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and a few more Ks.
Now, taking a turn towards the hordes of talent. Giants' Flores and Ramos are a dependable duo, putting runs on the board with relative consistency. But let's all agree, it's hardly like having Ohtani's power boosting the Dodgers, backed by the ready bats of Smith, Muncy, and that young jackrabbit Pages bouncing around on bases. Kim's batting average makes you want to double check your glasses - he's hotter than a ghost pepper fiesta.
The Giants, they've given the Dodgers a good run lately, they've got a couple numbers in the win column. The total match history though leans toward the Dodgers, and you know old scores aren't easily settled, folks. Close race in the season record. Dodgers lead by a hair, but, they're playing on their own turf and that could make all the difference.
The latest needle on the Giants indicates they've been busy dodging Rockies and Braves, holding their own, kind of, but the boys in blue came strong off from meeting the Padres and Cardinals, with a string of recent wins to boast.
From where I'm sitting, I'd say someone might earn enough for a good steak dinner tonight if they've got faith in the Dodgers.
