Detroit Tigers by 2Get ready for some big league action as the Yankees trot out to play the Tigers at Detroit's own fierce jungle, Comerica Park. Notoriously, a tough habitat for batters, but let’s see how today's gladiators fare.
The Yanks are sending Carlos Carrasco to the mound, who has been having a bit of a rough time, sporting a sweaty 7.61 ERA for the season and a less ghastly, but still lackluster 5.78 last year. The Tigers, on the other hand, are entrusting young cub Tarik Skubal and oh are they rewarded. His impressive figures from last season and this season at 2.417 and 6.18 ERA respectively, make the Yankees batboy want to switch jobs.
Swinging in for the Yankees, keep your eyes peeled for the likes of Trent Grisham, who’s been smoking the ball all over the park, notching a .423 average this season. And we can’t forget Judge, can we? Batting at .325 with 18 RBIs, he's been more reliable than an alarm clock this season. Oswald Peraza and Anthony Volpe are not too shabby either.
The Tigers' batting order does not disappoint either, with Zach McKinstry leading the pride with a respectable .321 average. Young guns Baez, Greene and Torkelson are also showing some promise.
When we revisit history between these two, the Tigers have been more dominant. While they both ended up with the same regular season record, picking apart their recent form shows the Tigers on a high whereas Yankees must be feeling a tad seasick.
All things considered, it's time for Albert's Prediction. Just remember, folks, betting sometimes can be as predictable as a coin flip.
