Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets.Ah, what a delightful day for a little Wimbledon action wouldn't you say? On today's docket, we've got a tantalizing dance between Ashlyn Krueger, our 31st seed, and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, darting around the fringes, unseeded but not under-the-radar.
Our gracious lady Pavlyuchenkova has had a decent ride through June thus far, with 4 victories under her belt, showing that she knows how to turn the tables from love. Make no mistake, she likes to push it to the decisive third set though, as she's done in three of her recent victories.
Krueger, on the other hand, well, seems to be on a bit of a rollercoaster ride. A mixed bag, has our faithful underdog, making her gutsy win against Stojsavljevic stick out like a Wimbledon whites against the green court. But let's not be too hasty, she does have that 31st seed, signifying she's no slouch herself.
Keeping in mind their previous encounters, Pavlyuchenkova makes it a point, winning twice over, to remind our seed 31 that she's not just here as a courtesy.
Drumroll, please! Here's my prediction... Pavlyuchenkova just might be the one to pop the strawberry and cream bubbles of Krueger's Wimbledon dreams. By the way she's hustling past her opponents and her past shenanigans with Krueger, I'd expect her fiery form to take this one in straight sets.
