Sabalenka in 3 setsAh, yes. Here we are at the verdant courts of Wimbledon, with a tantalizing match awaits. Aryna Sabalenka, the number 1 seed, primed to go against the unseeded Carson Branstine. Quite a teeming contrast, isn't it?
Sabalenka, practically wearing a crown already with the top seed, has the betting market working overtime. Despite some stumble; however, she was overshadowed by Vondroušová M. in her most recent outing. But, she's Aryna Sabalenka, she bounced back convincingly against Rybakina E. and Masarova R. A minor hiccup against Gauff C. did follow, but swiftly sidelined Świątek I. soon after. Not exactly a seamless cruise, but hey, she's there.
And there we have our underdog, Carson Branstine. The way she demolished Șerban R., Andreescu B., and Boisson L. on back-to-back days was certainly not short of impressive. Now, did she stumble against Ruse E.? Yes, she did. But bounced back against Samsonova L. and hasn't looked back since.
While it's tempting to back the dark horse and challenge the status quo, let's put a check on that romantic notion here. Sabalenka is the top seed for a reason, folks, though it's pretty clear, she's no stranger to dropping a set.
