My Prediction
Pegula in straight sets.If you thought waiting for a bus in the rain was a gripping experience, try NOT being on the edge of your seat for the imminent clash between Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Jessica Pegula. Alright, obviously I'm pulling your leg, but stay with me on this one, folks... I mean, esteemed viewers.
On one end of the court, Jessica Pegula is sporting the intimidating number 3 seed title, unlike her nontheless tenacious opponent, Cocciaretto, who didn't acquire a seed at all. Doesn't mean much though, we've all seen David conquer Goliath, right? Who am I kidding, Pegula didn't get that seed by doing charity work, she's as ruthless on the court as a mother-in-law at a wedding.
And speaking of matches, Jessica and Elisabetta have locked horns twice before, and like a hammer seeking a nail, Pegula simply hammered Cocciaretto both times with love to spare.
"Oh, but recent form!" I hear you cry, well, let's dissect that, shall we? On a glorious run, Pegula concedes just one loss in her last five matches that couldn't have hurt more than a mosquito bite. Cocciaretto, on the other hand, is nursing a more substantial injury after two devastating losses in her last five matches.
Oh, and try to keep this in the down-low, but don't even talk to me about Cocciaretto's payout. Pegula's numbers there are as slim as a supermodel during fashion week.
