Siniakova in 3 sets.Welcome to this highly anticipated face-off between Katerina Siniakova and Qinwen Zheng. Now these two have been around the court a few times with Siniakova holding a 2-1 head-to-head advantage.
Though an unseeded player, Ms. Siniakova should not be taken lightly. Her streak this season has been quite a spectacle, with recent wins to boast against Kudermetova, Krueger, and Tan. However, a defeat against Pegula has certainly left a sour taste on her trail.
Our friend, Qinwen Zheng, however, enters this clash as the 5th seed. Holding quite a performance card herself – especially victories over Raducanu and Kessler, she's had her fair share of defeats, too. A few trembles against Anisimova and Sabalenka, but she can certainly press the 'Reset. Now it's time for a little love, but in tennis that's a bad thing, so never mind.
All things considered, taking both their recent victories and losses, the battleground seems tilted in Siniakova's favor considering their previous encounters. However, let us not forget that the odds have a funny way of working.
