Swiatek in straight sets. The only love we're likely to see in this match will be on Iga's side of the scoreboard. Let's hope for a belter of a game. The proof, as ever, will be in the pudding.Well in this glorious world of tennis, we have a thrilling semifinal coming up between Iga Swiatek and Jasmine Paolini. Now, Paolini has been somewhat of a surprise this tournament, holding the number 2 seed, but let's not make any hasty conclusions.
Swiatek has a history of making Paolini move to and fro on the court like a Jack Russell chasing a tennis ball in their past encounter, earning herself a comfy 2-love scoreboard. Swiatek, seeded 4th in this tournament, seems to have inherited the persistence of a honey badger, motivating her to fight through the rounds with quite the impressive recent performances.
Paolini, on the other hand, seems to be adopting the 'Chumbawamba' strategy - she gets knocked down, but she gets up again; you're never gonna keep her down. Despite couple of setbacks in her recent matches, she has bounced back, throwing a spanner in the works of Haddad Maia B., and Fernandez L.
Neither of these competitors resembles a shrinking violet, and we can anticipate a real rip-roaring contest. However, Swiatek’s top-drawer performance in the recent fixtures and her historical domination over Paolini sways my prediction toward her.
