Svitolina in straight setsWithout a shadow of a doubt, Svitolina is coming into this matchup hotter than a clay court in mid-July. She sails in with a recent form that's as flawless as the Federer forehand. Five straight matches in the bag without losing a single set... that's some quality tennis folks, no matter how you look at it.
On the contrary, we have Kartal. This poor soul is an absolute A-for-effort gal, but that's not what tennis is all about, is it? Unless she manages to find Djokovic's competitive edge and Serena's groundstroke in a lost-and-found, I don't see her causing any problems for Svitolina.
And after considering Svitolina's recent success, her favorite status, and the fact she's seeded while Kartal isn't, it's like comparing Federer at his prime to... me at any point in my life.
So, with all that being said, let's make this prediction more official than Wimbledon's dress code.
