Michigan State Spartans by 7Look, this is not my first cage match with the Wolverines and Spartans. Their past five meetings have been all over the place, but fortunately, memory like an elephant here, folks! Michigan State has claimed the victory in 4 of them, leaving the Wolverines to gnaw on that leftover bone only once. In the absence of memory, numbers may help. Michigan State is currently #8 in the AP poll, while our Wolverine friends are waddling back in #17 - no trophy for the guessing who's wearing a wider grin.
Recent victories make the Spartans strut like peacocks, with 5 wins on the go while the Wolverines have had some bruising, losing 2 of their last five games. And that's not the sort of momentum you want challenging the Spartans in their own lair.
Shifting focus to the court, on the Spartan side you can't look past Jase Richardson and Jaden Akins. Both have really been grinding it out lately, posting impressive numbers in their previous outings. Akins is earning his dinner, scoring 13 points per game this season.
The Wolverines aren't without their charm though. They've got Vladislav Goldin, whose recent performances make rain look dry! The fellow has averaged a solid 17.6 points per game over the last month and been lapping up the rebounds too. Daniel Wolf's not been slacking either, churning out 14.1 points per game last month.
But when it comes down to it: Spartans on their turf, better form, higher ranking... folks, aren't we glad we don't have to face the music here? This matchup is looking Spartan green all the way.
