Notre Dame Fighting Irish by 2You might want to sit up for this one because we've got the California Golden Bears squaring off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Two evenly matched underachievers with a 13-17 record each. It's a bit like watching two sloths in a race, but hey, let's not forget, slow and steady, right?
Let's not kid ourselves, though. Golden Bears' estate hasn't been a picnic. Jeremiah Wilkinson has maintained a steady scoring average in the recent past, clocking a 18.1 points per game in the last month. Then you have Andrej Stojakovic who's been pulling decent numbers with a 16.7 points per game this season, followed by Mady Sissoko. Average stuff from an average bear, I guess.
Not to be outdone in their mediocrity, we've got the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Markus Burton is the shining star here, his last month stats reading 22.8 points per game. The lad's doing his duty, that's for sure. Tae Davis and Braeden Shrewsberry are also putting digits on the board, but it's a bit like running on a treadmill; lots of effort but not going anywhere.
Taking a quick look at recent results, Golden Bears have had a bumpy ride with losses outnumbering their wins. Similarly, The Fighting Irish have had their ups and downs too, but with a rather impressive last minute victory against the Stanford Cardinal.
So considering all of this, how does the cookie crumble, you ask? Well, dear listener, it seems the cookie crumbs are tilting towards the Fighting Irish. Bottom line, I predict Notre Dame taking the game by a whisker or rather, 2 points to be precise.
