Tennessee Volunteers by 16Well, well, well, strap in for a thrilling ride because we've got a fierce matchup ahead of us; the South Carolina Gamecocks are about to ruffle some feathers in the Tennessee Volunteers' nest.
Let's dive in shall we? On one hand, we got the Gamecocks, sporting the impressive talents of Collin Murray-Boyles - this kid's been clocking 21.3 points per game last month alone! And let's not forget Jamarii Thomas, who's been hot on his wings with 11.9 points per game of his own.
But let's switch gears, over yonder with the Volunteers, they aren't messing around either. They have Zakai Zeigler sitting pretty with 16.6 points in the last month and Chaz Lanier towering over his own number at 17.4 points per game. The phrase "Legend in the making" comes to mind.
Considering the past fistfights, these two teams have a history of closely contested matchups, but the Volunteers seem just a nip and tuck ahead most of the time. Looking at the regular season stats, it's clear that Tennessee has been dominating the party with their impressive 24-6 win-loss record compared to the Gamecocks, who are pecking their way through at 12-18.
Recently, the Gamecocks have been back and forth like a badminton shuttlecock while the Volunteers have been making strides, despite a recent slip against the Ole Miss Rebels.
While Tennessee is currently sitting in the #4 spot, the Gamecocks have yet to make a mark in the AP rankings, this is a David and Goliath situation. And while the slingshot would make for a cute story, we all know I don't do cute.
Seems clear to me folks, barring all the bluster and feathers, that the Volunteers have the upper hand. Those Tennessee boys are favored in this particular shindig.
