Wisconsin Badgers by 8An exciting matchup we have here with the Penn St Nittany Lions stepping into the Wisconsin Badgers den. The Lions have been a bit of a mixed bag this season with an average 15-15 record. That’s not saying they don't have players that could turn around the tide; Adrian Baldwin and Yanic Konan Niederhauser have been proving their mettle consistently with 14.2 points and 12.8 points per game respectively this season.
Just so we are clear, it's not a walk in the park for the Lions, what with facing off against the #12 Badgers. The Badgers are coming in hot with an impressive 23-7 record that’s about as comforting as a pot of hot soup in a Wisconsin winter. Their player John Tonje, at 19.1 points per game this season, seems to be to scoring, what cheese is to the state of Wisconsin, essential.
Recalling past matchups just might give you a sense of déjà vu. The Nittany Lions did manage to nab a win in January 2024, but let’s be real. Past wins are like exes; nice to remember but not too reliable for the future, especially against a team with a much superior recent performance and track record like the Badgers.
Not to rub salt in the wound but, recent results paint a more armageddon-like picture for the Lions facing off against their beefier opponents. The Badgers, on the other hand, have been more or less consistent, letting few slip past them.
In essence, history, ranking and the raw data all point towards a potential Badger victory, although not a complete massacre of the Lions.
