My Prediction
Iowa State Cyclones by 9Hang onto your hats, ladies and gents, we're in for a Big 12 barnstormer! That's right, we've got the 10th ranked Iowa State Cyclones twisting their way into the Kansas State Wildcats' den.
Now, the Cyclones aren't to be taken lightly, not with the dynamic duo of Curtis Jones whipping up an average of 14.6 points per game in the last month and Joshua Jefferson hauling in an impressive 6.6 rebounds per game during the same span.
However, the Wildcats are here for a reason too, folks, and they're not about to simply roll over. David N'Guessan has been quite the weapon for Kansas State, averaging 15.3 points and 7.8 rebounds a game in the past month and Dug McDaniel has been dishing out 6.4 assists per game, slapping those numbers up on the fridge.
If we glance in our rear-view mirror at previous matchups between these two, Kansas State had a home win back in 2025, but overall, it's been more of an Iowa breeze. The Cyclones took 3 out of the last 5 meetups, which adds to the high octane of this clash.
When looking at recent results of each, the Cyclones appear to have hit the skids a bit of late but still managed a strong season with a 22-8 record, while Kansas State clawed out a .500 season. While the Wildcats did pull off a recent four-point win over the Cincinnati Bearcats, last month’s performance seems a bit more, shall we say, lackluster?
Finally, if we take a stroll past the AP rankings, Iowa State's standing at 10 might make the Wildcats whistle a bit. They're without a number by their name this season, which, in the cruel world of sports, means they've underperformed, or more generously, are yet to perform.
