Texas Tech Red Raiders by 18
Forget about grabbing your popcorn because it feels like we're about to witness a rerun. Colorado Buffaloes are marching into the belly of the beast at Texas Tech Red Raiders, and it's not looking optimistic for our underdogs.
The Buffaloes have been struggling to hit their shot with a regular season record of 11-18. Julian Hammond and Andrej Jakimovski have both been fighting the good fight, averaging around 10 points per game over the last month. But, numbers don't lie, and they fell on the short side of the scoreboard in 3 out of their last 5 games.
You don't have to be a math whiz to realize their odds of prevailing against the Raider armada are not in their favor. Sporting an enviable season record of 22-7, and held aloft at the #9 AP Ranking, Texas Tech is seemingly in a league of their own. Their stellar player roster, prominently featuring the likes of JT Toppin and Darrion Williams, who've been dropping buckets like there's no tomorrow, has a lot to do with their successful track record.
Toss in recent results - the Raiders have been victorious, besting their opponents in 3 out of the last 5 games - and you'll see it's simply not stacking up for the Buffaloes. I mean, the last time they met, Kansas had Jayhawks for dinner, while Houston Cougars turned out to be nothing more than a minor speed bump for the Raiders!
So, as much as I appreciate a good upset, the mismatch here is glaring, and I can't in good conscience recommend throwing support behind our underdog Buffaloes. Buckle up folks, this one may get messy.
