Philadelphia Phillies by 2
Alright, do we have a treat for us today with the Blue Jays flying over to Philly's Citizens Bank Park. Die-hard baseball fans, this one's definitely for you.
Let’s gain some insight, shall we? We've got Canada's finest, the Toronto Blue Jays with the Right-hander, Jose Berrios on the mound. Now Berrios, what a character. He's been clocking in at a 3.34 ERA this season with a 1.26 WHIP. Not bad, not bad at all.
On the flip side, Phillies are throwing their champion, Zack Wheeler into the mix. With a 2.90 ERA and more impressive 0.92 WHIP, an obnoxiously good 11.3 K/9, this guy’s dishing out strikeouts like hot dogs at a ballpark. A fair fight between the hounds, I must say.
Player-wise, the Jays are packing some power. Shouldn't overlook Alejandro Kirk who's batting a solid .371, and Berrios's buddy Ernie Clement at .292, along with Addison Barger and Bo Bichette stepping up the plate. Good show, gentlemen.
Then we have Phillies' dynamite - Brandon Marsh, Alec Bohm, Kyle Schwarber, and Trea Turner. Worth mentioning Schwarber with his 8 homers. A tough time for pitchers, especially if they've had a heavy breakfast. But let's not forget Turner, with his 10 stolen bases, making base runners look like they're jogging.
Based on their recent performances, Phillies seem to be the crowd's favorite, boasting a better regular-season record of 41-29 compared to the Jays' not-too-shabby 38-32.
Looking at previous games between these two teams, boy, the Phillies have a slight home advantage taking 3 out of 5 last games against the Jays. Notice how the Jays have struggled a bit in their recent games when they had their feathers plucked by the Phillies.
Considering all this and the venue being the Phillies home ground, a fair balance of randomness, skill, and Citizens Bank Park which my sources tell me is rather friendly to the batters. I would place my bet on, drum roll please…
