New York Mets by 4Oh ho, isn't this a baseball shindig and a half we've got right here? The Tampa Bay Rays taking on the New York Mets in the city that never sleeps. They'll be battling it out at Citi Field, a diamond that really isn't giving any favors to our hard-hitting heroes.
Now, if we're talking about those men on the mound - we got Shane Baz of Tampa Bay leaving a little to be desired this season with a 5.15 ERA. And the 1.40 WHIP? Yikes! Our boy Griffin Canning is licking his chops for the Mets with a more composed ERA of 3.30.
Looking at the Rays, we can't ignore the lighter-hitting patroon of the diamond, Brandon Lowe, who's been ripping through this season with a stellar 0.333 batting average. And Myers, Diaz, and ol' Junior Caminero, all have been making their mark in their own right. But let's face it, they ain't no Yankee sluggers.
From the Mets, boy, we got a right-handed murderer’s row here Stoneman Marte, McNeil, and the Polar Bear himself, Pete Alonso. It's like they're playing a video game out here, I tell you.
Previous games between these two teams look like a Rays' party, but we got to remember that these were played on a different field. The Mets round that season win bell at 45 to Rays' 38. Recent games have seen the Mets doing great in their own backyard, with Tampa showing a couple o' stumbles on their current travel trail.
Now, if I were a betting man - and don't tell my ex-wife, but I’ve got some experience with money riding on the line - I’d be looking at that data that's more secret than the recipe for Coca-Cola but we don't talk about that now, do we? My money would be on a team with poise, power and a hunger in their eyes.
