My Prediction
Arizona Diamondbacks by 2Nick Pivetta from San Diego Padres has had a commendable season with his 3.50 ERA and 9.9 K/9. And then we've got the Diamondbacks' golden arm Merrill Kelly who's been pretty fine too, rocking a 3.35 ERA and 8.8 K/9.
Over on the Diamondbacks' side, keep an eye out for Gabriel Moreno, Ketel Marte and Eugenio Suarez, especially Suarez with his 24 RBIs. But hold your horses, the Padres aren't a one-horse act either. They've got Manny Machado and his 21 Nanny Goat Ribbies, not to mention Gavin Sheets who has kept the scoreboard ticking with his 18 RBIs.
As far as their previous clashes are concerned, it looks like a close shaving. But if you're looking for a trend, at Chase Field, the Diamondbacks seem to have a slight edge. Maybe being on home turf gives them extra pep.
And let's talk about regular season records. The Padres have been on a hot streak with 38 wins against 31 losses this season. The Diamondbacks are just a hair away with 36 wins and 34 losses. Recent results seem to favor the Diamondbacks since they really seem to enjoy their home-cooked meals.
So, drumroll, please. Taking it all into account, but giving a nod to the fact that the Diamondbacks are the favorites on their home turf, although not by too much.
