Seattle Mariners by 2In this comedic world of baseball, we've got a riveting matchup between the Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners, out at the I've-forgotten-my-password Park, known to some as T-Mobile Park. Historically, this park tends to be a pitcher's paradise; it's not a batter's best friend to say the least.
Taking to the mound for the Twins we have Zebby Matthews, who is around the 20.3 K/9. Goodness me, the man's performing like a runaway jackhammer. But he’s only had one appearance which might play batsman for Seattle. Across the diamond, we've got Bryan Woo showing off for the Mariners with his 2.42 ERA and that cool 0.93 WHIP. Woo certainly looks like the more seasoned pitcher, like a well-aged cheddar.
When it comes to players making some noise, the Twins have Kody Clemens, Carlos Correa, and Ty France all batting for averages above 0.26. Meanwhile, for the Mariners, Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez have been slugging away like their morning coffee is laced with rocket fuel.
Looking at the history books, our last five encounters lean favorably towards the Twins; they seem to enjoy their time visiting the Mariners. Both teams also share identical regular season records. The symmetry!
Also worth noting that the Mariners were recently on the receiving end of a Washington onslaught, whilst the Twins have had mixed fortunes on their Florida vacation with Tampa Bay.
Taking all of that into account, my money's on Seattle for this one. They've got the hometown park advantage, a pitcher that could probably make a soda can dance at the plate, and some real fiery bats.
