New York Yankees by 2Let's dig in. Visiting the West Coast, we have the dashing New Yorkers taking on the home team, the sun-kissed Los Angeles Dodgers at the Dodger Stadium. Home sweet home indeed, but just enough for the batters to pump the crowd.
The Yankees parade their pilot, Will Warren onto the mound. His season so far stacks up to a 3.87 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and a formidable 12.4 strikeouts-per-nine-innings in his 11 outings. The Dodgers though, they're countering with Landon Knack. Now, this chap has had a bit of a rough season with a 5.39 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and a more subdued 8.9 strikeouts-per-nine-innings in just 7 appearances. We'll see who blinks first.
But, let's not forget the supporting cast. The Yankees showcase muscle in the form of the trio, Aaron Judge, Paul Goldschmidt, and Cody Bellinger. Power and precision all in one package. For the Dodgers, you've got Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, Shohei Ohtani, and Andy Pages ready to swing. Given their firepower, the fans can expect some fireworks.
Pagp back to the history books, the Dodgers seem to have an edge. Last time these two met, the spirit of Vince Scully must have risen as the Dodgers chased down the Yankees to an 8-5 victory on home turf. Don't count out the Yankees just yet as their regular season record slightly edges out the Dodgers at 35-20 versus 34-22.
Consider their recent form, the Yankees and Dodgers both seem equally matched. The Yankees stole three out of four from the Dodgers the last time they visited LA, but the Dodgers staged quite the comeback on Sat May 31, 2025. Admittedly, the Dodgers have had a bit of see-saw action with their recent results and may just need a dose of home-field comfort.
