Philadelphia Phillies by 3
So, the Milwaukee Brewers are crossing the Mississippi to face off against our Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. With its reputation as a friend to batters, the park has seen its fair share of fireworks.
Taking the mound for the Brewers will be Chad Patrick, whose decent 3.11 ERA and 1.28 WHIP shows good command over his arsenal this season. Up against him, we have Jesus Luzardo for the Phillies, showcasing a dominating 2.17 ERA and l.19 WHIP. With a greater penchant for strikeouts, it looks like Luzardo's doing a better job of making batters swing at our tasty Philly air.
Out in the field, we've got some stars to watch. Sal Frelick, Jake Bauers, and Christian Yelich are bringing their bats for the Brewers, while Rhys Hoskins lends support. Over on home soil, the Phillies counter with Alec Bohm, Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, and Nicholas Castellanos. Yelich and Schwarber, though their batting averages look more like my high school math scores, just can't help but clear those fences.
Our history shows both teams had their glory days. But, I'd say the Phils came ahead more often. I know what I just said doesn't apply to most recent fixtures, but it seems that trend was broken when the Brewers paid us a visit and couldn't resist taking our Philly Cheesesteaks - metaphorically, of course!
Milwaukee is shaking off some dust with a record of 30-28 this season, while the Phillies are gliding along with an impressive 36-21. I mean, we can't all be winners, right? And let's not forget the recent bareknuckle scrap where the Brewers got the better of the Phils... If I were a betting man, which I might be, I'd consider that a wake-up call for our boys in Philly.
So, drumroll please... My prediction, you ask?
