My Prediction
Chicago Cubs by 2Alright, strap in folks as we're heading to Chicago, home of deep-dish pizza, the 'Blues Brothers', and a raucous crowd of Cubs fans at Wrigley Field. This classic baseball footprint tends to be a bit stingy for batters, without much favoring either the pitchers - a ballpark treat which keeps both teams guessing.
The Cincinnati Reds will be sending out their ace Andrew Abbott, who's been quite impressive with his low ERA and high strikeout rate. But wait, the Cubs have a formidable answer in Colin Rea, even though he's been slightly less successful than Abbott this season.
Turning our eyes towards the batters, the Reds are featuring Benson, Friedl, and De La Cruz. Particularly interesting is TJ Friedl, who's been pretty hot recently. Now the Cubs are no less armed with their own heavy hitters: Shaw, Swanson, Crow-Armstrong, and Suzuki. Dansby Swanson pulling some exceptional numbers there. But the key player here might just be Pete Crow-Armstrong, the guy's been raining down RBIs like the midwest weather - unpredictable and overwhelming.
The past one-on-one scrimmages of these two teams have been quite riveting, and they've fairly shared their wins and losses. Yet, if we look closely, the balance slightly tilts towards the Cubs.
Now, Reds have won their fair share of games this season, but the Cubs have taken the lead, presenting a better regular season record here.
With all these factors considered, and noting the latest victories, especially the Cubs' sweep against Colorado, the Cubs seem to have an edge here. The odds are surely lined up in favor of the Chicago bouncers, but remember, this is baseball where anything can happen, and usually does, folks!
