San Francisco Giants by 2
Alright, ladies and gentlemen, make yourself a comfy spot on the couch, because the San Francisco Giants are visiting the Chicago Cubs for what promises to be a heated battle at Wrigley Field. Now, Wrigley's got a pretty even field, which won’t favor the hitters or pitchers extensively. So, that’s a neutral playground for this ballet with bats.
On the mound we've got Robbie Ray for the Giants, who’s been quiet effective with a solid ERA of 3.07, compared to his counterpart, Ben Brown of the Cubs, whose 5.03 ERA isn't exactly making anyone shiver. You catch my drift? Ray’s the sharper tool in the shed here.
The Giants are bringing a pretty nice collection of boys to the plate. Lee Jung Hoo, Mike Yastrzemski, and the not so charming with the stick, but cat like with the feet, Matt Chapman. On the other hand, the Cubs have a few tricks up their sleeves as well with top stars like Carson Kelly, an ever-shining Ian Happ, and the dynamo Pete Crow-Armstrong, who's definitely not a crow but he does use his arms quite well.
Now, let's look at history, because who doesn’t love a good old history lesson? The past encounters between these two have been quite a teeter-totter. The most recent match saw the Giants topping the Cubs, but overall, the victories have been shared. No love lost here, I promise.
Both teams are toe-to-toe in terms of the season record. Both sitting pretty at 22-14. Now that’s what I call balance. The Giants however, have been faring well recently, coming off a successful series with Colorado. The Cubs, on the contrary, have been riding a rollercoaster, high points against the Giants themselves, but dropping a game to Milwaukee.
Now for the part you've been waiting for, my friends. If I were a betting man, which due to my poor success in some local lotteries, I am not, here’s my prediction:
