San Diego Padres by 2So, folks--whoops, I mean ladies and gentlemen, we've got a fiery baseball match coming up between the San Diego Padres and the New York Yankees at the famed Yankee Stadium.
Starting with the pitchers, the Padres have sent Michael King to the mound with his miniscule 2.20 ERA and 1.06 WHIP, while the Yankees, with a bit of a Hail Mary, have staked their hopes on Clarke Schmidt's 5.70 ERA and 1.48 WHIP. Take from that what you will.
Top players to keep your eyes on for the Padres are Luis Arraez, Fernando Tatis Jr., and guess what? Mr. Machado himself. We've seen some stellar run from Aaron Judge, Paul Goldschmidt, and Trent Grisham on the Yankees' side. Special shout-out to Judge who's currently stealing the show with a .413 average and 6 homers.
Considering the previous outings between these two teams, it's been basically teeter-totter, quite a see-saw if you ask me, with the Padres edging out a slight advantage recently. Let's also keep in mind the Padres are holding a nice 22-11 regular season record, unarguably outshining the Yankees' 19-15. In the recent matchups, the Padres have been on a flaming hot streak, while the Yankees have been...well, let's call it lukewarm.
